Configure Cap Settings

Decide which types of records should count against an agent cap and which do not.

Capping allows you to pause an agent from record assignment when they have more than a given number of contacts or companies assigned to them. Cap settings allow you to configure a set of conditions that are used to count the number of contacts or companies owned by a user in HubSpot which count against the cap.

  • Click on Settings in the left-hand navigation
  • Click on the CAP SETTINGS button under the CAPPING section of the Settings page
  • Click the Select Object dropdown under OBJECT TYPE
    • Select Companies to create your cap based on the number of companies owned by a user in HubSpot
    • Select Contacts to create your cap based on the number of contacts owned by a user in HubSpot
  • Click the SELECT button
  • Click the Select a property dropdown
    • Choose the property that you would like to use to trigger your team
      • Properties will be pulled directly from the HubSpot account that Distributely is connected to. You will only be able to select properties corresponding to your Team Type. For example, if you are creating a rule for a Contact Team, then you will only be able to build a rule based on contact properties. If you are creating a Deal Team, then you will only be able to build a rule based on deal properties.
  • Select the appropriate operator
  • Select the appropriate property value
  • Select the appropriate owner property to reference
    • By default, capping will be based on the default contact or company owner field in HubSpot, but you can choose to base your cap on a custom owner field in HubSpot
  • Click the ADD CONDITION button

You can add up to two conditions. Records that meet ANY of the conditions added will count towards the cap.

Activate your Cap

When you have completed configuring your Cap Settings, then you will need to activate your cap.

  • From the settings page, toggle next to Global Lead Caps to the green, "On" position.

If this toggle is in the gray, "Off" position, then capping will not be enabled regardless of your Cap Settings or Agent Caps.
