Adding the Routing Action to a HubSpot Workflow
This article covers adding the Distributely action to your lead routing workflow in HubSpot
What you are adding:
Inside HubSpot's workflow editor, Distributely appears as a custom action named 'Distributely v2 Routing.' Add it as a step in a workflow, fill in four fields, and every record that reaches that step gets sent to Distributely for assignment.
The action works on workflows for Contact, Company, Deal, Ticket, Lead, and custom objects.
Adding the step- In HubSpot, open or create the workflow that should route records.
- Add an action and choose Distributely v2 Routing
- Fill in the fields below.
- Save and turn the workflow on.
Put the action where you want the assignment to happen. Anything before it should be the filtering and enrichment that your team rules depend on, because Distributely evaluates the record as it exists at the moment the action runs.
The fieldsTeam Selection Logic
Select Team Rules.
This tells Distributely to evaluate each active team's rules against the record and route to the first team that matches, in Team Order. Team rules are configured per team in the Distributely app, not here.
Owner Selection Logic
This is how Distributely picks a person once it has picked a team.
- Round Robin — rotates through the team's available members in order, one each.
- Weighted Round Robin — rotates in proportion to each member's weight, so higher-weight members receive more over time.
- Attribute-based Round Robin (Team) — narrows the team down to members who have the required attribute, then rotates among those members.
Attribute for owner selection
This field should only be set when the Owner Selection Logic is set to Attribute-based Round Robin (Team)
Type the attribute's Internal Name, exactly as it is spelled in Manage Attributes in the Distributely app. It is a free-text field, so HubSpot will not warn you about a typo.
Distribution Mode
- Live — Distributely picks an owner and writes it onto the HubSpot record.
- Mock — Distributely picks an owner and records the decision, but does not write anything to HubSpot.
Mock and Live also determine which teams are eligible: a team only participates in a mode it has switched on.
